HEDI KOVACS

Born in Budapest, Hungary, Hedi began drawing as a child. She studied with renowned water colorist Istvan Elesdy in her homeland then attended George Brown College in Toronto where majoring in Graphic Design led to her work in advertising there and in Vancouver. Her oil paintings have appeared in several Pender Islands Art Society shows as well as being featured at Talisman Books & Gallery, Pistou Grill and Islanders' Restaurant. Other showings have included galleries in Richmond and a one woman show in Yaletown.

Working out of her Gecko Studio on North Pender Island, Hedi's work is remarkable for her vibrant use of colors and juxtaposition of textures.
