STANLEY
WILLIAM OGLOV
Sculptor
Stan
Oglov is a Pender Island sculptor who works in wood and stone.
His work has been exhibited in Canada, Malaysia and Mexico.
While
he is largely self-taught, he also studied at the Belles Artes
in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. A resident of Southeast
Asia for 4 years (1994-1998), his work has been influenced
by the tribal arts and the exotic woods of that region.
However,
he says the challenge of each piece of raw wood or stone and
its natural characteristics is a major influence.
